Awakener Tier Lists (For Endgame)

This is a quick guide to what characters are good in the Nightmare and Madness difficulties of D-Effect Zone. They assume you've been playing for months, have spent money on the game, and have all characters, dupes, and SSR wheels required to make a team work.

These tier lists are not relevant to the vast majority of players. However, if you're a new player planning to eventually do the hardest of hard content, you can use this guide as a reference for what characters to invest in.

Keep in mind that the actual performance of a character will depend on the stage. Especially in Madness difficulty, a team can effortlessly cheese one boss, only to be hard countered by another. There are too many possible factors to take all of them into account, so this guide focuses on what characters can be relied on to clear an “average” wave with no gimmicks.

Take these tier lists with a grain of salt. The new D-tide difficulties have only just released. As balance changes happen and we get a better idea of what works, this guide will be updated accordingly.

For explanations of formatting, see Awakener Tier Lists (For New Players).

Endgame DPS Tier List

A (High Madness Viable)

These characters deal Max HP % damage or have very high damage scaling, allowing them to consistently deal the massive amounts of damage needed to kill high Madness bosses.

B (Low Madness Viable)

Given enough investment and support, these characters can reliably reach the ~10 million damage ceiling needed for high Nightmare and low Madness stages. They may be viable into higher difficulties if the team has a favorable matchup or you use Emergency Gnoses/Turn Rewind.

C (Nightmare Viable)

Given enough investment and support, these characters can reliably reach the ~5 million damage ceiling needed for high Hard and low Nightmare stages. They may be viable into higher difficulties if the team has a favorable matchup or you use Emergency Gnoses/Turn Rewind.

X (Secondary DPS)

These characters can contribute a meaningful amount of damage as secondary DPS (usually because they have a Max HP % nuke in their kit).

Endgame Support Tier List

S (Meta Defining)

These characters provide huge damage multipliers that are needed to elevate lower-tier DPS into Nightmare and Madness viability.

A (Game Changing)

These characters provide defensive abilities, extra turns, Max HP % damage, or other effects that are crucial for beating high-difficulty stages.

B (Role Player)

In specific teams, this character might be useful enough to run in high-difficulty stages instead of a more universally useful support.

C (Niche Role)

This character isn’t a useful support in the majority of high-difficulty stages, but might be useful for specific fights.
